Stephanie Kilgast lives and creates her masterpieces in Germany although her art has been exhibited in Asia, America and Europe. She created small realistic dollhouse pieces from 2009-2016 out of polymer clay. She recently changed to bigger sculptures made out of thrift store materials and trash. One very intriguing fact about her is that she came with an idea called the Daily Veggie Challenge. The Daily Veggie Challenge consisted of making one different veggie/fruit for 233 days in 2015. By starting this challenge Kilgast wanted to lay out how many different consumable plants there were available and to bring awareness about meat production eventually leading to less consumption of meat.
I first discovered her website in 2015/2016 when I first started working with polymer clay. A friend had showed me her website and it got me really interested in making food. I eventually was able to get supplies and make clay charms at a slightly less quality level. She makes them on such a small scale that it really fascinates me. I would try to make things at the same hight and it was very hard getting the details that she is able to make on her pieces. I then found her videos/tutorials to use to make my figurines, but as I watched her videos it almost seemed to be second nature for her and thats the kind of skill I wanted to achieve. PetitPlat
